Welcome back to my blog. It's been a while since I posted but over the next few days, there will probably be several posts, because my ideas seem to come in waves!
This week we celebrated New Years in preschool. With apologies to my directors over the past 14 years, social media is finally helping me understand the value of the PROCESS! This week we painted New Years pictures with party blowers. I just picked up whatever they had at the Dollar Tree but they turned out to be just what I needed. The blowers were plastic and plastic, as opposed to the cardboard and paper ones I have used in the past. The activity was a huge success because each child used his own method for getting the paint onto the blower and then onto the paper. My co-teacher and I just stood back and let it happen.
Some blew the blower out into the paint and then over the paper so that only splatters got on the paper.
Some got close to the paper so the blower rolled onto the paper. This one covered his paper from left to right.
Some didn't want to get messy but then didn't want to quit.
Some wanted to dip their blowers and mix all the colors together.
Everyone got paint spattered. But it all cleaned up nicely with baby wipes.
It's all about the PROCESS! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
